Method:

  • Wash your hair using a volumizing shampoo and condition it.
  • Detangle your hair while conditioning.
  • Squeeze it gently with a towel. Do not rub your hair while drying.

  • Separate the crown are of the hair and put it in a bun. This is the last area to work on.
  • Start with taking an inch of your hair from side and wrap the ends around the index finger, creating loop. Hold it properly with your index finger and thumb.

  • For waves starting near the hair roots, make two boxer braids or French braids on both sides
  • Make sure the braids are tight enough, to not let your hair frizz when you open it
  • Keep the braids on until it’s dry. You can even do the braids before bed and undo it the next morning.
  • Finger comb your hair after undoing the braid and use some hairspray or any other hair product that you think will give you extra hold.

9. Bantu Knots

  • Bobby Pins
  • Shower Cap
  • Hair Gel/ Other Product For Hold
  • Hairspray

Method:

  • Wash your hair, condition it and squeeze it dry.
  • Once it is almost 80% dry, take 1-2 inches of your hair and twist it until, it looks like a rope.
  • Twist it tightly to form a tiny bun.
  • Secure this part with a bobby pin
  • Do this for all the hair, until all of it is pinned up in Bantu knots.
  • Cover your head with a scarf or wear a shower cap and sleep.
  • The next morning, remove the scarf or shower cap and let your hair dry completely.
  • Undo each knot, one after another and finger comb.
  • Finish using hairspray.

10. Paper Towel Method

This method is using tissues as an alternative to rollers. It gives natural curls, tight and springy.

What you need:

  • Towel
  • Paper Towel Roll
  • Hairspray

Method:

  • Wash your hair and towel dry it. You can also dampen it with a spray bottle.
  • Fold a paper towel, making it 1-inch wide and almost 4-5 inches long.
  • Take 2 inches (or less) of your hair and wrap around the paper towel (in the middle area).
  • Roll it upwards, until it reaches the scalp.
  • Tie the paper towel to the rolled up hair.
  • Do this for the rest of your hair in small sections.
  • Sleep with the towels in your hairs
  • Undo it the next morning and finger-comb the hair
  • Use a hairspray or hair gel to hold it for long.

11. Sock Method

Method:

  • Wash your hair or dampen it with a spray bottle

  • Cut the toes of your sock and roll it to make a doughnut out of it

  • Sea-salt Spray

Method:

  • Wrap a headband on your head, while your hair is damp
  • Part your hair into two sides and start folding it around the tied headband.

  • Repeat the same process on the other side and pin the ends to secure
  • Wait until your hair dries. You can use a blow drier to fasten the drying process or just go to bed with the headband on
  • Unpin your hair, once it is completely dry.
